The biological drying facility project developed for Hereko İstanbul 1 Atık Yönetimi Nakliye Lojistik Elektrik Üretim San. ve Tic. A.Ş. in Şile, Istanbul was completed by DEA YAPI on a turnkey basis, encompassing the construction of 11 basins and ventilation tunnels. The project was designed as a specialized industrial facility that meets the high engineering standards required by the waste management sector, complies with environmental regulations, and supports operational continuity.
Biological drying is a technically sensitive process that involves reducing moisture content in waste through controlled ventilation and microbiological activity. Accordingly, the reinforced concrete construction of the 11 basins was executed in compliance with watertightness requirements, while the ventilation tunnels were engineered with attention to air flow dynamics, thermal management, and odor control. The floors and side walls of the basins were formed with materials resistant to aggressive waste contents, and drainage, leachate collection, and wastewater management systems were integrated in accordance with environmental regulations. The installation and connection of process equipment were completed to support the facility’s operational continuity.
The Şile region of Istanbul holds a critical position in the metropolis’s waste management infrastructure and represents an important component of the city’s environmental sustainability strategy.
Beyond standard factory construction, DEA YAPI operates with engineering discipline, technical accuracy, and quality assurance in waste management facilities requiring specialized processes, demonstrating in this project its corporate competence in environmental infrastructure construction.
