The CAT Zone Electric Vehicle Park project developed for Oyak Renault was completed by DEA YAPI on a 5,500 m² area in 2011. The structure, designed to house Renault electric vehicles, was built with a steel frame load-bearing system on reinforced concrete foundations and covered with sandwich roof panels.
The scope included reinforced concrete foundations, fabrication of 160 tons of steel structure, and 5,500 m² of sandwich panel roof covering. The choice of steel structure delivered an ideal engineering solution for wide-span parking volume, rapid installation, and integration of dedicated charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. The sandwich panel roof system provided an efficient envelope in terms of both thermal insulation and weather protection, while the infrastructure design laid a foundation on which EV charging stations could be easily integrated in the future.
Electric vehicle parking and storage areas have engineering requirements distinct from conventional vehicle parks. Charging infrastructure, electrical safety systems, fire risk management, and ventilation solutions are at the center of their design. Aligned with Oyak Renault’s electric vehicle strategy, this investment contributed to the development of Türkiye’s electric automotive ecosystem while reflecting the sustainability vision of the Renault Group at its Bursa manufacturing center.
Since 1988, DEA YAPI has applied its technical accumulation from turnkey industrial building construction services delivered to the automotive OEM industry to the Oyak Renault CAT Electric Vehicle Park project.
